Descriptio: Hindi is a language spoken by roughly 680,000,000 people worldwide. This is a group for people to share resources for and discuss the learning of the Hindi language. Share strategies, ask about which resources are better suited or just plain better than others, or contact people to try and learn & converse with.

If you want to get started, you certainly don't need to spend a dime. Here are some helpful resources.

The University of Texas's Hindi Flagship Program hosts some different learning materials for the beginner in pdf format. A good beginning point is Hindi Praveshika, which will teach you the hindi script (devanagari) and basic sentence construction.
